It looks like we’ll have to wait a week longer for Sinister, one of the most buzzed-about horror movies of the fall, because Summit has bumped its release back from October 5 to October 12. But to tide you over, here’s some new photos and a new poster for the movie, which stars Ethan Hawke as an author who moves his family into a home that was the site of a mass murder. Gee, thanks Dad!

The anthology series Hammer House of Horror ran for only one season on British TV in 1980, but it delivered some great vintage scares and cool, inventive story lines that make much of today’s horror seem pretty bland by comparison. Read about it in my review of The Complete Hammer House of Horror.

Don't let the pink dress fool you. "Princess" Lola from the darkly comedic Australian shocker The Loved Ones is one of the most brutal (and best) horror villains in recent memory, putting protagonist Brent through so much torment, you almost feel he'd be better off if someone would put him out of his misery. Even though he hasn't directed a film since 2007's Hostel: Part II, Eli Roth is a busy, busy man. Here's a rundown:
- He's signed on to produce director Ti West's The Sacrament, which Roth describes as "Ti's first mainstream movie, without sacrificing the quality and unflinching horror of the subject matter." Specific plot details, however, weren't provided.

Aftershock is all wrapped and ready to go (it's currently showing at the Toronto International Film Festival), while Clown is set to begin production soon.
- Speaking of Clown, Roth is teaming with that movie's creators to write the long-awaited feature film version of his own fake trailer, the slasher spoof Thanksgiving that played as part of the Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez exploitation homage Grindhouse.
