It's been eight years since Australian writer-director Sean Byrne won over horror buffs with his debut feature "The Loved Ones," an instant classic in both the teen-splatter and backwoods freak-show sub-genres. Byrne's belated follow-up "The Devil's Candy" isn't as grabby, but it's just as smartly crafted, confirming "The Loved Ones" was no fluke.

Back in the late 1970's, the Kurt Vonnegut, Jr., sci-fi novel The Sirens of Titan was adapted into a stage play that was directed by Stuart Gordon . Premiering in October of 1977, it was supposedly a minimalist presentation with quite the simple production value.

Veteran film and television actress Veronica Cartwright talks about new film The Dark Below and some of her best work in horror Veronica Cartwright has been bending spells in cinema since she was a little girl, co-starring at the age of 12 with heavy-hitters Audrey Hepburn and Shirley MacLaine in William Wyler's controversial 1961 thriller The Children's Hour and a tidal wave of entertainments made for both the big and small screen. Hers is truly a life spent in front of the lens.

Filmmaker J.D. Dillard is in talks to update classic horror movie "The Fly" for a new generation of fans. The original 1958 release, based on a short story by George Langelaan, was directed by Kurt Neumann, and starred David Hedison as a scientist who turns himself into a human insect after an experiment goes awry.

What can we say about all these live-action Disney remakes? Long may they continue! While Beauty and the Beast is perhaps not one of our most childhood cherished pictures, there is still enough drama, intrigue and music to get us excited. The all-star cast doesn't hurt either.
