He's played Captain Jack Sparrow, Sweeney Todd, Donnie Brasco and Whitey Bulger, but now Johnny Depp is taking on the role of someone on the right side of the law. The 53-year-old is set to play Detective Russell Poole in Labyrinth, the true story of the investigator who worked the murder of The Notorious B.I.G., theorising that his death was a retaliation for the murder of Tupac Shakur one year earlier.

The two-minute clip, above, which features a blood-splattered, gun-totting Kate Beckinsale looking just as badass as ever, is pretty much what you'd expect it to be.

"What is really great about a ghost story is you know that it can't really be real but there's a part of your mind going 'but is it?'," actor Matthew Spencer told us ahead of his starring role in the show in Richmond and Bromley.

As conventional and stiff as the film is, Jerry Lewis' lead performance in it is full of virtues: he's committed, disciplined and entirely credible. "The Ballad of Narayama" is a Japanese film of great beauty and elegant artifice, telling a story of startling cruelty.
