First Look at the Sequel — Er, Remake — Er, Whatever Fright Night 2

Child's Play isn't the only horror franchise moving from theaters to the direct-to-video realm this fall; Fright Night 2: New Blood will land on home video on October 1. Ostensibly a sequel to the 2011 Fright Night remake starring Colin Farrell, Fright Night 2 is actually a standalone re-imagining of the same storyline, with young Charley Brewster, his girlfriend Amy and friend Evil Ed once again stumbling upon a vampire named Gerri Dandridge -- this time a woman (their college professor) -- and enlisting the help of Peter Vincent (returning to the horror host role of the original film) to defeat the bloodsucker.

Perennial nice guy Michael Cera takes a dark turn in Magic Magic, the latest effort from acclaimed Chilean filmmaker Sebastián Silva (The Maid). It's the story of a young American woman (Juno Temple) who finds herself in a remote house with three strangers (including Cera) who may have ominous intentions. Fans of psychological thrillers like Black Swan and the works of Roman Polanski might want to check it out. Read about it in my review of Magic Magic.

Details about the upcoming third season of American Horror Story have so far been few and far between. While it's been known for a while that it will be subtitled Coven (meaning it will presumably feature witches) and will feature returning cast members Jessica Lange, Taissa Farmiga, Sarah Paulson, Lily Rabe, Denis O'Hare, Alexandra Breckenridge and Frances Conroy alongside newcomers Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett and Gabourey Sidibe, little has been revealed about the plot. During last week's Summer Television Critics Association tour, however, cast members and producers spilled a few juicy beans:
