Here’s the rundown on some recent horror/suspsense casting announcements of note:
- Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe (Precious) has signed on for the third season of American Horror Story, although, like almost everything surrounding the upcoming season, details remain under wraps. Season 3 is subtitled Coven, so it’s widely presumed the storyline will revolve around witches.

Given Scream 4's underwhelming box office performance, we may have seen the last of the slasher franchise on the big screen, but there's a chance we may get more of Ghostface's killer antics on the small screen. That's because MTV has ordered a pilot episode for a television series based on the films. According to Entertainment Weekly, it would be a one-hour show, and if ordered to series, it would premiere in the summer of 2014.
