Several upcoming theatrical releases have new release dates you can add to your calendar, in chronological order:
- Devil: This M. Night Shyamalan production from the directors of Quarantine will hit theaters on September 17, 2010, almost a full five months earlier than originally scheduled. It’s refreshing to see a movie bumped UP for a change.

The Last Exorcism won’t open until August 27, but I was lucky enough to see the world premiere at the LA Film Festival last week. Devil, the first film to be released under M. Night Shyamalan‘s horror-themed Night Chronicles banner, has yet to be released (it’s due February 11), but the writer/director already has the second of a scheduled three films lined up. It’s called Twelve Strangers, and according to Deadline, it’s “a thriller that involves a jury deliberating a case involving the supernatural.”

When we got our fist look at the Night of the Demons remake back in 2008, I speculated that the cast seemed appropriate for a direct-to-video release (Edward Furlong, Shannon Elizabeth, Diora Baird, Monica Keena, Tiffany Shepis, Linnea Quigley), but then I kept hearing that it would get a theatrical release in February 2009…and then October 2009…and then February 2010…or not.
