A bootleg copy of the trailer for the upcoming remake Piranha 3-D has hit the interwebs. It’s shaky, but you get the gist of what looks like a fun summer flick, certainly more upbeat than director Alexandre Aja’s previous films (The Hills Have Eyes, Mirrors, High Tension). Catch it in theaters starting April 16.

The eagerly anticipated film The Lovely Bones teams a mega-popular novel with a mega-popular director (Peter Jackson) and a mega-budget (reportedly $100 million), but the result is mega-disappointing. Read all about it in my review of The Lovely Bones.

Resident Evil 4 Coming Out in 2010 After All?

Although it was previously delayed from a late summer 2010 release to early 2011 due to the technical aspects of a 3-D release, Resident Evil: Afterlife is reportedly back to a 2010 release, according to ShockTillYouDrop.com. The new date for it to hit theaters is September 10, 2010. There’s no indication that the film won’t be shot in 3-D, so apparently the filmmakers either overestimated the time it would take to create the 3-D effects, or they settled for 2-and-a-half-D.

Just three weeks before the start of the 2010 After Dark Horrorfest, it seems that the eighth and final film in the lineup has finally been revealed — although not officially. Despite rumors that a film called Scream of the Banshee would be included, the festival’s new trailer posted on Apple.com states that a movie called Kill Theory is the to-be-named final entry. The film’s plot sounds pretty standard: a group of college students are forced to kill each another by a sadistic bad guy. It’s helmed by first-time director Chris Moore (who you might remember as one of the producers on Project Greenlight, where Feast was born) and stars Agnes Bruckner (Blood and Chocolate), Taryn Manning (Hustle & Flow), Theo Rossie (Sons of Anarchy) and Patrick Flueger (The 4400). All eight films arrive at a theater (kinda) near you when the fest kicks off on January 29.
