What Twilight Should Be: Vampire Diaries Season 1 DVD Review

A funny thing happened on the way to my reviewing the Season 1 DVD of The Vampire Diaries: I found out that the show is actually pretty darn good. Well, the first season at least. I’d seen the first episode and bits and pieces of others but had never really gotten into the show, but given the chance to watch the season in its entirety, I was engrossed by the well-written storylines and surprised that the show doesn’t fall into the predictable teen melodrama mode of another unnamed teen vampire based-on-a-book series.
