For those of you still holding out hope that the upcoming remake of The Evil Dead — now apparently titled simply Evil Dead — will continue in the campy horror-comedy vein of Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness, the new gruesome red-band trailer should clear up that confusion rather quickly. It might also help soothe the nerves of some fans of the original who were pessimistic about the concept of a remake, because it looks very promising. You’ve got to at least think that Sam Raimi, who directed the original and serves as producer on the remake, wouldn’t let anyone ruin the film that put his name on the map. We’ll find out when Evil Dead hits theaters on April 12, 2013.
