We’re in for devilish times at the box office, with a pair of Satan-themed limited releases hitting theaters later this month: The House of the Devil (October 30), about a baby sitter who falls prey to satanists, and Antichrist (October 23), the controversial film about…um, well, when you figure it out, you can let me know. In the meantime, check out these pics from The House of the Devil and Antichrist.

Although Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes production company has apparently given up on making another Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie, the franchise is far from dead. Twisted Pictures, the company behind the Saw series, is taking over production duties and is planning on continuing the Texan cannibal storyline — not seen since 2006’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning — with a 3-D film to be written by Stephen Susco (The Grudge, Red). And things don’t stop there; the Twisted deal (with distribution through Lionsgate) reportedly is for “multiple films,” meaning the series might have to branch out in order to avoid repetition. Can you say Saw crossover? (Actually, I hope you can’t.)

Well, the first Children of the Corn remake will give remake haters plenty of fodder for their protests. We can only hope the second remake will turn out better. Read more in my review of Children of the Corn.

Nearly a decade after two young girls are brutally murdered, the monstrous killer, Jonah, escapes from a mental institution and returns to his familiar killing ground, the theme park attraction "Dark Ride." His unfortunate victims this time are a group of college kids on a road trip that inevitably leads them to the Dark Ride where their night of youthful fun becomes a nightmare. The killer, who is mimicking the sets within the attraction, makes sure this is a "ride" audiences will never forget.
