It’s been a while since we’ve had a good killer shark movie (Deep Blue Sea? I said “good,” not “great.”), and veteran genre director David R. Ellis (Final Destination 2, Snakes on a Plane, The Final Destination) is out to rectify that. He’s got a shark flick in the can, and guess what? It’s in 3-D!

Next year, director Catherine Hardwicke will return with the werewolf film Red Riding Hood, her first movie since 2008’s Twilight, and now that we have a peek at the trailer, it’s hard not to think of…Twilight. Granted, that’s partly due to the fact that the video trumpets “from the director of Twilight.” Otherwise, it has several things working for it:

It’s had more lives than Shirley MacLaine’s cat, but Medium appears to be finally approaching the light at the end of the tunnel. Having already staved off cancellation once before when CBS picked it up in 2009 after NBC sent it to the scrap heap, the show has now run its course on its second network also. Series creator Glenn Gordon Caron officially announced on Thursday that Medium‘s seventh season finale — airing on January 21, thanks to a truncated 13-episode season — will be the series finale as well.
