Neil Marshall Gets a Stake in Dracula Movie Last Voyage of the Demeter

Last we heard of The Last Voyage of the Demeter — which features the awesome concept of speculating what happened aboard the Russian ship that brought Dracula’s coffin from Transylvania to England — Ben Kingsley and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo‘s Noomi Rapace were attached to star, with Austrian filmmaker Stefan Ruzowitzky (Anatomy) directing. But that was just one of many plans for the film in the decade since the script was written (by Season of the Witch‘s Bragi Schut). Directors Robert Schwentke (Flightplan, Red), Marcus Nispel (Friday the 13th) and David Slade (30 Days of Night, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) have all been attached at one time or another, and we can only hope that the latest filmmaker to sign up — The Descent‘s Neil Marshall — will stick.
