For many Christmas junkies, the season is not complete without a viewing of the 1951 film " A Christmas Carol ," featuring Alastair Sim as Charles Dickens' curmudgeonly champion, Ebenezer Scrooge. For audiences wanting a more modern take, there is always " A Christmas Carol ," an animated film which was released in 2009 and which stars Jim Carrey, not only as Scrooge, but several other characters as well.

Ridley Scott will receive the American Society of Cinematographers Board of Governors Award for advancing the art and craft of filmmaking, during the The British director's iconic work includes directing the sci-fi classic Blade Runner , which resides in the U.S. Library of Congress' National Film Registry; and sci-fi thriller Alien , which catapulted Sigourney Weaver to stardom and launched a franchise. His latest film The Martian has made $589 million worldwide and has garnered a great deal of awards buzz.
