Teen readers participating in Harper's First Look program have already called the book, “Amazing!” “Heart pounding!” and “...not a page turner but a page burner!”
A website devoted to the series is now live. (http://www.wickeddead.com) In the future it will be expanded to include a flash game and a video.
WICKED DEAD: Four ghost girls, Daphne, Anne, Shirley, and Mary, trapped in the abandoned ruins of the hulking Lockwood Orphanage, live in fear of the evil Headmistress. In an effort to escape her dread punishment, each night they roll a set of dice-like bones, which conjure tales of violent death, one of which they pray will unlock the secret of their own earthly confinement.

BITING DOG PRESS has announced that it will be publishing the novella MIDLISTERS by KEALAN PATRICK BURKE. It will be published in a 400 copy limited edition signed by both KEALAN PATRICK BURKE and JACK KETCHUM (Forward) and illustrated by KEITH MINNION.
Meet Jason Tennant, a writer of violent horror novels whose career is mired firmly in a maddening swamp of frustration somewhere north of nowhere and south of success. He is a midlister, those thankless souls who labor in the shadows of sometimes better, sometimes luckier writers, and it's starting to take its toll. Meet Kent Gray, wildly popular author of a string of so-called sex-fi novels. He's wealthy, handsome, and the object of Jason Tennant's professional jealousy.
Welcome to Baltimore, Maryland, and the Aurora Science Fiction Horror Convention, where these two men, midlister and bestseller, will meet for the first time, and the midlister motto Better Read Than Dead will be put to the ultimate test.

SAROB PRESS is closing at the end of this year. I will be giving up the rat-race and the daily 130 mile commute and moving abroad next year with Sara - to a smallholding (small farm) in northern France. Although I thought hard about running the press from France, I have, bearing in mind the life changes our move will entail, decided that, all things considered, closing down the press is best. IMAGE COMICS has announced that CRAWL SPACE by RICK REMENDER and KIERON DWYER will be issued in October 2007. It will be published as an ongoing full color series.
Crawl Space is a series of horror stories Kieron and I have been cooking up for years. Like an expanded Tales From the Crypt where each tale is given many issues to develop -- it's not an anthology, explains Remender, the series' writer. Since completing Sea of Red, Kieron and I have been cooking up new horror stories together and over the next few years, they'll all be wedged out of the Crawl Space and into the horrible light of day. The first four issue story arc, XXXombies, takes a look at, zombiesploitation with its twisted tale of sex stars, cannibalism and the '70s. Our story's focus is a sleazy producer who has gathered a bevy of adult stars for a weekend film shoot. When they emerge, they discover a zombie plague has overrun a now-quarantied Los Angeles. The results are unlike any previous tale of the undead, especially with Rick and Kieron's special guest collaborator - Tony Moore, the original artist of The Walking Dead.
