Fringe Renewed for One Final Season

It was touch and go for a while, but fans of Fringe can finally rejoice: the show is returning for a fifth season. On the downside, it will definitely be the last season, and it will be only 13 episodes long (the previous four seasons boasted 20-23 episodes each). But at least fans can savor the show’s last season, and the series will now be able to reach 100 episodes, the traditional threshold at which point a show becomes viable for $yndication. It remains to be seen whether Fringe will return in the fall or if, given its short run, it will be a midseason replacement.
