Development Hell-raiser: With Remake Up in the Air, Studio Turns to Sequel

The remake of Clive Barker’s 1987 cult hit Hellraiser has been languishing for years, struggling to get an acceptable script written and a director to stay on board. Big-name horror talent like director Pacal Laugier (Martyrs) and writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton (Feast, the last four Saw movies) have been attached, but nothing yet has actually gone into production. And according to The Hollywood Reporter, don’t expect anything any time soon, as Dimension Films seems content with biding its time until the perfect situation falls into its lap.
