Could This Be the First Half of Ghost House Underground 2009?

The initial slate of Ghost House Underground DVDs released in 2008 provided some highs (Dance of the Dead, The Substitute) and lows (Brotherhood of Blood), but was otherwise a welcome addition to the horror release schedule. There’s no official word yet on a 2009 edition, but there are at least four films on Ghost House Underground’s radar without a specific release date. Could these be the first half of the 2009 GHU set?

• The Children: What starts as a relaxing Christmas house party for two families turns into a horrifying fight for survival as the children mysteriously fall ill and begin to turn against their parents.
• Offspring: A cannibalistic backwoods family thought to have been killed return with a vengeance, eating their way through town residents. Based on the Jack Ketchum (Red, The Lost, The Girl Next Door) novel.
• Seventh Moon: Newlyweds honeymooning in China during the Hungry Ghost Festival encounter the walking dead. Starring Amy Smart and directed by The Blair Witch Project‘s Edward Sanchez.
• The Thaw: A deadly prehistoric parasite is released when a woolly mammoth is discovered in a melting ice cap. Faced with a potential global epidemic, four ecology students must destroy the parasite before it reaches the rest of civilization. One by one, they become infected and turn on each other. Starring Val Kilmer.
