Conjuring Sequel Already in the Works

It doesn’t hit theaters until tomorrow, but The Conjuring is getting such great buzz (and it cost so little money) that New Line is already working on a sequel. The second film probably won’t be directly tied to the haunting in The Conjuring; rather, it will likely follow the continuing true-life exploits of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, whose world-renowned exploits have included the cases that inspired The Amityville Horror and The Haunting in Connecticut. Brothers Chad and Carey Hayes, who wrote the first film (in addition to House of Wax, The Reaping and Whiteout), have already signed on for the sequel, but with director James Wan moving on to Fast & Furious 7, he may find it difficult to return.
