Joel Freeman , a veteran producer behind such films as Shaft , The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter and Love at First Bite , has died. He was 95 and passed away Sunday night after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease and lung cancer at his Sherman Oaks, CA home.

"I've never, ever been to a film festival and actually seen a movie," says Phoenix, 43, huddled in the back of a hotel restaurant at the Waldorf Astoria Park City. Between red carpets and interviews, this year's Sundance has been especially busy for the three-time Oscar-nominated actor, who has two films playing at the mountainside event: You Were Never Really Here , for which he won a best actor award at Cannes Film Festival in France last May; and Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far on Foot , which reunites him with To Die For director Gus Van Sant to play quadriplegic cartoonist John Callahan.

We got the first shots today of what looks like Jamie Lee Curtis on set this week, reprising her role as Laurie Strode as local shooting of the latest Halloween movie is underway in the North Charleston area.

The actress caught Casey Spooner jumping up on a bench to shake things up.

Tonight, the Paramount Network premieres the first installment in a six-part miniseries about real-life cult leader David Koresh and the tragic siege of his compound in Waco, Texas. Waco stars Taylor Kitsch as Koresh and Michael Shannon as FBI agent Gary Noesner, and will dig into the complexities of Koresh's spiritual sect, the Branch Davidians, including their strange living conditions, and their leader's penchant for marrying and sleeping with preteen girls.

Robin Baumgarten's Line Wobbler is an incredibly clever dungeon crawler game based on a single, one-dimensional line of lights, traditionally implemented as large-scale, high-priced public art installations. In 2015, Critters decided he wanted to make his own homebrew Line Wobbler clone; he knew he could implement the light-strip with a cheap, programmable strip of Christmas lights, but for the controller, he hacked a little accelerometer into a springy doorstop, so that players could trigger the game's attack-mode by twanging the doorstop.

When shopping for a haunted house, what do we look for? Charm? Elegance? State-of-the-art appliances? No. According to the trailer for "Winchester" - the latest listing on the market for possessed real estate - what we want are "Spirits! Souls! Demons! Ghosts! Entities! Apparitions! Shadows! Beings! Devils! Poltergeists! Wraiths! Spectres!" The movie, which opens Friday, Feb. 2, and stars Helen Mirren, was "inspired" by a real-life, wildly eccentric structure - the Winchester Mystery House, now a tourist attraction in San Jose, California.
