Jennifer Beals , star of Flashdance, plays the mentor of a deadly CIA operative in Taken , a new TV series prequel to the Liam Neeson movie trilogy, which hits NBC on February 27. Beals, 53, who was born in Chicago, Illinois, also stars in the mystery, Before I Fall , opening March 3 in theaters, and is producing The Edge , a dance drama, for Fox.

The presentation of the award was followed by the world premiere of his new film Final Portrait , directed by Stanley Tucci, in which he plays the Swiss-Italian artist Alberto Giacometti.

John Carpenter teases new music for upcoming a Halloweena movie

Carpenter directed and co-wrote the original Halloween film in 1978 and co-produced Halloween II but has since had no involvement in the subsequent eight films of the franchise. Writing on Facebook, Carpenter revealed the director and writer of the upcoming movie, as well as teasing his involvement with the score.
