"We believe the zombies are real and they are coming to the city of Altoona,"Altoona Mayor Matt Pacifico told the crowd at Heritage Plaza during a tongue-in-cheek "news conference" announcing the invasion of zombies, part of the two-day Zombietown USA event that kicked off Friday. Pacifico said the city was working with the Centers For Disease Control and Prevention to find out the cause of and a cure for the zombies and referenced George A. Romero's 1968 cult-classic "Night of the Living Dead" - which was filmed in Evans City near Pittsburgh.
