She later wrote about the unsolved murder of her youngest daughter who was shot in a random attack in 1989 Author Lois Duncan arrives at the premiere of the film, "Hotel for Dogs," based on her kids adventure, in Los Angeles on Jan. 15, 2009. Her thriller "I Know What You Did Last Summer" also was turned into a movie.
