Veteran American director Brian De Palma said on Wednesday at the Venice Film Festival that his advice to young filmmakers is they must never give up, but they also need luck and a sense of humour in order to succeed. Seventy-five-year-old De Palma is being honored for a career spanning half a century, which has included "Scarface" with Al Pacino , the Chicago gangster film "The Untouchables" and the launch of the Tom Cruise "Mission: Impossible" franchise in 1996.

Blake Lively stars in this intriguing romantic drama about a woman who stopped aging at 29 and shuts herself off from the world until she falls in love and has to come out of her self-imposed exile. Harrison Ford and Kathy Baker co-star as the parents of her romantic interest, and the cast is one of the things that makes this film enjoyable.

IFC Midnight has acquired North American rights to Travis Z's "Cabin Fever," a reboot of Eli Roth 's 2002 film of the same name that was co-written and executive produced by Roth. The reboot, which will be released in 2016, stars stars Gage Golightly, Matthew Daddario , Samuel Davis, Nadine Crocker, and Dustin Ingram.

Everything old is new again! At least that's how it seems with newly established niche distribution label Lovechild Pictures announcing the first film in its upcoming series of artisanal VHS releases. The debut project will be James Felix McKenney's dystopian sci-fi opus Automatons .
