That's what studio executives were thinking when they saw the long lines for “Jaws” 40 years ago June 20. “At the time 'Jaws' was released, summer was where you put a silly movie because no one goes to see movies because there's too much to do outside,” says Turner Classic Movies' Ben Mankiewicz. “So Hollywood stumbled onto the summer blockbuster.” Since then, every summer the major studios bombard us with giant productions meant to blow us away.

The 35-year-old actor - who stars in the Colin Trevorrow-directed 'Jurassic World' - has revealed his favourite part of shooting the movie was getting to spend time in Hawaii with his family, saying it inspired him to want to appear in the US police drama series. Asked to recall his most cherished moment shooting the film, Chris - who's married to 'Scary Movie' actress Anna Faris , with whom he has a two-year-old son, Jack - said: ''It might not have been an actual moment.

Most notably, the Universal film brought in an estimated $511.8 million around the world, making it the highest-grossing global opening ever. That total beat the $483.2 million that "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2" made worldwide in 2011.

New shows on offer include Karen Gillan's US sitcom Selfie and Celebrity MasterChef, while it's goodbye to Game of Thrones, The Zoo and Bones. It's a good sign that this is yet another show that revolves around a strong woman in a position of power - but it took a few episodes to get into a solid political drama that's sneakily addictive.
