Hey folks, Harry here... OMG - I'd totally forgotten this was being done! What? Yes, an immaculate 3D Conversion of George Romero's astonishing DAWN OF THE DEAD! Oh sure, it got announced a ways back there, but when you digest geek news 24/7 - you sometimes forget even the coolest friggin announcements ever... but just a while ago, I was browsing on FACEBOOK, when I came across this post: Yup, that Machete in my head is signed by Tom Savini - the Motorcycle bastard with the machete from DAWN OF THE DEAD - and the Machete Zombie himself, Lenny Lies!!! Now - apparently this release is already out in GERMANY, but here in the good ol U.S. of A., there is still no notification of when we'll get the 3D BLU RAY of this... but Tom Savini has seen it and given his full endorsement - and that's just killer!

Duran Duran delivered a three-song finale at a concert tribute to the music of David Lynch on April 1, saluting the director with 1980s hits -- a disconnect from the rest of the two-hour evening, but somehow quite Lynch-ian in its appeal. Each performance had a spark of personality, a rarity in these tribute shows.

What's spookier than visiting Colorado's Stanley Hotel, the place which inspired Stephen King to write The Shining ? How about visiting Colorado's Stanley Hotel, the place which inspired Stephen King to write The Shining , and watching horror classic Re-Animator ? It was announced today that the Stanley Film Festival -which takes place at the hotel from April 30 to May 3-will be paying tribute to Re-Animator director Stuart Gordon as its 2015 "Master of Horror" and will screen his 1985 cult classic. Gordon is to be presented the award by filmmaker Mick Garris, director of several King adaptations, including a 1997 mini-series version of the novelist's famed haunted hotel book.

Starz has released the haunting first teaser and official key art for its Evil Dead sequel, Ash vs. Evil Dead . In the series, set to debut at a date to be determined in the fall, Bruce Campbell reprises his role as the title character Ash, a stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the past three decades avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead.

Currently in production in Atlanta, Paramount Pictures' upcoming horror franchise sequel Rings has added "The Big Bang Theory" star Johnny Galecki to its cast. According to Deadline, Galecki will a "pleasure seeking" professor named Gabriel who serves as a mentor to Alex Roe and Matilda Lutz's characters.
