America's about to get Taken for the third time! So revisit the first two Takenings, which prove that Liam Neeson should pretty much stay out of Europe.

Not to be snarky, but how many times can one man retrieve members of his family from the bad guys? To paraphrase Oscar Wilde, to lose one family member may be regarded as a misfortune. To lose two, looks like carelessness.

Happy New Year and welcome back to the same old Weekend Warrior as we kick things off with the month that tends to offer some of the weakest releases quality-wise, but the films still find some way of doing better business than they would if released in any other month. Go figure.

Filmmaker Neill Blomkamp appears to have abandoned work on a new movie in the Alien franchise after sharing pieces of his concept art with fans online. The District 9 director took to Instagram.com last week to give fans a glimpse at what a new film could look like, unveiling mock-ups of Sigourney Weaver's Ripley character and Michael Biehn's Hicks, in addition to his visions for the alien xenomorph and spacecraft, among others.
