Elizabeth Pena, the locally-born actress best known for her roles in Rush Hour and La Bamba, is dead at age 55, according to her nephew Mario-Francisco Robles, writer at the Latino Review , who announced that the beloved Hispanic actress died on Tuesday, October 14 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Born in 1959 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, but raised in Cuba before returning to the U.S. at the age of eight with her immigrant parents, Pena was destined for a career in the arts.

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has poked fun at her clean-living lifestyle in a new episode of Lisa Kudrow's comedy series "Web Therapy." The "Shakespeare In Love" star made a guest appearance on the season four premiere on Wednesday, when she portrayed new age character Maya Ganesh and prayed to "call in the light" before her session with Kudrow, as therapist Fiona Wallice.

Oscar-nominated writer and director Philip Kaufman will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award for Directing at the 22nd edition of Camerimage next month. The festival, based in Bydgoszcz, Poland, is one of the few in the world dedicated solely to the art of cinematography.

Bremerton's Admiral Theatre began its 2014-15 season this October, live performances and offering Kitsap a chance to do the time warp again. Before the month is out, the theater has two more unique treats for audiences: A midnight showing of the cult classic Rocky Horror Picture Show, and country legend Leon Russell.
