In an effort to boost sagging viewership, TV networks are resorting to adapting big-screen movies -- particularly in the horror/suspense realm (see Hannibal, Bates Motel, Dracula) -- but one film no one could've predicted would be the next television target is The Hand That Rocks the Cradle. According to The Hollywood Reporter, however, the hit 1992 "fatal attraction" thriller about an unhinged nanny (Rebecca De Mornay) who tries to take over the mother role in the family that hires her is being developed into a show on the increasingly non-family-friendly cable channel ABC Family. Things are still in the early stages -- there are no stars attached, though Supernatual alum Daniel Loflin is set to write and produce -- so it hasn't been officially ordered to series, but you have to wonder how long the premise can be dragged out.
