Two more limited-release horror movies have secured concrete release dates:
- The Revenant, a horror-comedy-action hybrid starring David Anders (Alias, Heroes, The Vampire Diaries) as an articulate zombie who targets criminals for his meals, hits theaters on August 24 — the same day it’s available on demand.

It will probably get about one percent of the press of The Woman in Black, but for my money, the low-budget film The Pact — which gets a limited theatrical run starting Friday, July 6 and is currently available on demand on IFC Midnight cable VOD and digital outlets (SundanceNOW, iTunes, Amazon Streaming, XBOX Zune, Playstation Unlimited) — is a scarier, better executed ghost story with a more intriguing mystery. In a fairly light week, The Pact gets a limited theatrical release, while the horror-comedy Some Guy Who Kills People is the highlight of an otherwise re-release-dominated home video schedule.
