A few weeks ago, a trailer for Ridley Scott’s eagerly anticipated Alien semi-prequel Prometheus leaked online, only to be quickly shut down by Fox, but now we finally get a look at the official trailer — with the studio’s blessing. From what I can recall, it looks similar, but not identical, to the leaked trailer — of course, with much clearer video quality than the grainy bootleg.

David Fincher’s remake of the Swedish film The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (or, if you prefer, his adaptation of the book of the same name) is gripping, mysterious, picturesque and…pretty much the same as the original movie. Read about it in my review of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

Dexter Season 6 Finale: What Did You Think?

“This Is the Way the World Ends,” the Season 6 finale of the Showtime serial killer show Dexter, ended with a bang, but it wasn’t enough in my mind to overcome a whimper of a season. For me, this was easily the worst season so far, with bland villains, drawn-out characterizations (still waiting on what’s going on with scheming intern Louis) and the less said about Deb’s sudden “feelings,” the better. Only the villains’ twist identity — revealed a couple of episodes ago — and the cliffhanger final moment make this season memorable in my book. That said, a poor season of Dexter is still more watchable than most other shows on TV, but I certainly hope the writers return to form for the final two seasons. Anyway, how did you like (or dislike) Dexter Season 6?
