Here are some interesting interview clips with the cast and crew of Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark, featuring the likes of star Katie Holmes and writer/producer Guillermo del Toro. Particularly intriguing is del Toro’s explanation of the 16-year process (!) of getting this film made and the impact it had on his other movies, like Pan’s Labyrinth and The Devil’s Backbone.

The Woman in Black, Daniel Radcliffe’s follow-up to the decade-long Harry Potter series, opens in the US on February 3, 2012, and now we have our first full — and quite spooky — trailer for the ghost story. An adaptation of the 1983 Susan Hill novel of the same name, The Woman in Black is produced by the legendary (and recently resurrected) Hammer Films, with CBS Films serving as the American distributor.

Not to be confused with the Roman Polanski film of the same name (the cover art should be a hint), The Tenant is a modern-day Frankenstein of sorts, with a mad scientist creating a monster who can (and probably will) crush your head like a Gallagher watermelon. Read about it in my review of The Tenant.

One of the more unique upcoming horror movies is an endeavor from Magnet Releasing and the newly formed Drafthouse Films, the film distribution arm of the renowned Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. The ABCs of Death is a mega-anthology with 26 short films from 26 up-and-coming directors -- some better known than others -- each taking a different letter of the alphabet and telling a story of death via something beginning with that letter. Twenty-five of the directors have been named (see below), and the 26th could be you!
