A couple of fresh faces have signed on to be Leatherface’s newest victims in the upcoming The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. Joining a cast that includes Alexandra Daddario and Bill Moseley are Scott Eastwood (Gran Tonino, Pride) — AKA Clint’s son — who will play the male lead, Carl, opposite Daddario’s Heather in what Deadline states is intended to be the first of a trilogy.

These days, it seems like a Hollywood movie isn't a Hollywood movie until at least one person is brought in to rewrite it, and a pair of big-name screenwriters have just signed on to tidy up the scripts for two eagerly anticipated genre films. Diablo Cody (Juno, Jennifer's Body) has been hired to rewrite the recently confirmed remake of The Evil Dead, which was originally written by director Federico 'Fede' Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues.

Raimi will serve as producer for what Bloody Disgusting describes as a "quasi-remake," with Alvarez, who gained global notoriety in 2009 for his low-budget, high-octane short Panic Attack!, helming his first feature.
