Thanks to its outrageous concept, The Human Centipede garnered a lot of buzz last year (continuing even through this season’s premiere of South Park, “Human CentiPad,” just a few weeks ago), but those who’ve watched the movie can attest that its treatment of the subject matter is actually quite restrained and non-explicit for a genre film. However, such appears not to be the case with the upcoming sequel, The Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence), as it has just been effectively banned in the UK.

While the first trailer for Don't Be Afraid of the Dark was effective, it was more of a teaser that didn't show much of the characters, plot or action. However, the latest trailer is quite the opposite; some might argue that it shows too much about the story of a girl who discovers creatures living in her father's creepy mansion. You be the judge. The remake of the 1970s TV movie hits theaters on August 12.

The American Girl with the Dragon Tattoo remake just got a trailer, and now it has a poster: a stark, risqué black-and-white shot of Daniel Craig and a Rooney Mara, the latter wearing only Craig’s arm and some strategically placed lettering and shadows. Undoubtedly you’ll see more of Mara when the movie hits theaters on December 21, 2011.

Originally slated for an October 19 release, Kevin Smith’s “extreme fundamentalism” thriller Red State is abandoning the Halloween season for Labor Day. Presumably this means it will open on the Friday before Labor Day (September 2), although with Smith’s unorthodox release approach, he may very well opt to open on Labor Day itself (September 5). Either way, it’s good news for those who weren’t able to catch the film during its travelling road show this past spring.
