With books these days being optioned into movies before they’re even published, it’s a wonder that anyone bothers to read anymore — especially without Oprah around to tell us what to buy. The latest is This Dark Endeavor, a young adult coming-of-age tale about the adolescence of Victor Frankenstein that won’t be published until August. However, that hasn’t stopped Let Me In and Cloverfield director Matt Reeves from signing on to direct the adaptation for Summit Entertainment, which knows a thing or two about young adult adaptations, serving as home to the Twilight franchise.

Director David R. Ellis combines the animals-run-amok scenario of his Snakes on a Plane with the 3-D carnage of his The Final Destination and voilà, we have Shark Night 3D! And now we also have a trailer for the September 2 film, which looks like it could be dumb fun, though probably neither as dumb nor as fun as this.
