The 1960s sci fi horror movie Monster A-Go Go has a warped history that includes almost starring Ronald Reagan, an added dimension that would’ve made what’s become known as one of the worst films ever all the more of an oddball. As it is, it’s a pieced-together mess that should please bad movie aficionados, although it’s actually too bad to take advantage of the potential “so bad it’s good” appeal. Read about it in my review of Monster A-Go Go.

I don’t know if many people think that a remake of the 1994 hit The Crow — based on the comic book about a murdered rock musician who returns from the dead for revenge — is a good idea, but I doubt that many of the people who do would put Mark Wahlberg at the top of their dream cast. But that apparently isn’t stopping Relativity Media from considering the rapper-turned-actor for the lead in its remake/reboot/re-whatever.

Outside of the occasional Zombieland, it’s rare to see a horror-comedy movie get a proper theatrical release, so it’s unlikely that you’ll see Tucker and Dale vs. Evil at the multiplex anytime soon. Not that it’s not good enough, though. It’s funny and creative and features likable character actors Alan Tudyk (Firefly) and Tyler Labine (Reaper) in the hilarious position of trying to prove that they’re not homicidal backwoods hicks.

Last year, MTV unexpectedly ventured into the world of horror movies with the slasher take on its My Super Sweet 16 series, My Super Psycho Sweet 16. Even more unexpected, it was actually not bad. And what’s a not-bad horror movie without a sequel? This week, we get My Super Psycho Sweet 16 Part 2, airing on Friday, October 22, at 10:00 PM ET/PT on MTV.
