This week’s TV offerings include two major horror premieres, both airing on Saturday, March 27: Saw V debuts at 9:00 PM ET/PT on Showtime, while The House of the Devil comes on at 10:00 PM ET/PT on MTV. Also premiering this week is the acclaimed Italian thriller The Girl by the Lake, which won that country’s equivalent of the Oscar for Best Picture. It airs tonight, March 21, at 10:00 PM ET/PT on the Sundance Channel (repeating later in the week).

One of the most eagerly anticipated movies of the summer has become more eagerly anticipated with the release of the first trailer for Predators, the third film in the Predator franchise (fifth if you include the two Predator vs. Alien films). It looks pretty entertaining to me, even if it's traded the brawn of the first film -- Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jesse Ventura, Carl Weathers -- for the (presumably non-requisite) acting chops of Adrien Brody and Laurence Fishburne.
