Say what you will about the thought of remaking Carrie, but the upcoming version from director Kimberly Pierce (Boys Don't Cry) is pulling together a nice cast. First, Chloe Grace Moretz was hired to play the titular role of the telekinetic teen, and now Julianne Moore, who co-starred in another remake of an iconic horror film -- Psycho -- has agreed to star as Carrie's domineering mother. Entrance is an unusually quiet, slow-paced horror movie that lulls you into a near-coma before bludgeoning you with a shocking climax. It’s one of those films that is best viewed knowing as little about it as possible, so to appreciate its full impact, you probably should NOT watch the trailer — although ironically, the trailer might be the primary reason why you’d want to see this otherwise seemingly nondescript film. After weeks of uncertainty, word has finally come down on the fates of ABC's The River and The CW's The Secret Circle: neither of the first-year shows will return to their respective networks next season. The River's cancellation seemed inevitable, but fans can hold out a glimmer of hope that rumors of Netflix picking it up come to fruition. The Secret Circle seemed to have a better shot at renewal, but even though its sister show The Vampire Diaries is the top-rated show on The CW, that didn't earn the "teen witch" series enough mojo with the network to bring it back for a second season.

The last we heard of a remake of Roger Corman's cult classic The Little Shop of Horrors, direct-to-video maven Declan O'Brien -- best known for directing Wrong Turn 3 and 4 -- was on board to develop it. Three years later, the behind-the-scenes personnel have taken an immense step forward with word that Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Inception, 50/50) is now developing a remake of the film, with an eye on starring as the nerdy florist Seymour, whose life is turned upside-down by a man-eating plant.
