Legendary filmmaker and composer is set to share chilling music from slasher favourite Halloween and his other horror classics - and you could meet him too! Geordie lovers of horror will no doubt have a shiver down their spine at news that the so-called Master of Horror John Carpenter is paying a one-off trip to Newcastle and tickets to see him will go on sale on Friday. The famous US director and composer behind horror classics as Halloween and The Fog will be showcasing his work during an Anthology Tour event at Tyne Theatre and Opera House in October.

Starting Friday, the Prytania Theatre is launching a new film series called "filmtopia," which will run the gamut of the art-house offerings from documentaries, foreign films, cinema classics and a retrospective on the career of Stanley Kubrick. Many of the films take extended looks into the wide world of the arts, including the opening night film, "The Gospel According to Andre," a portrait of fashion icon Andre Leon Talley.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that make-up legend and The Walking Dead executive producer Greg Nicotero is bringing George A. Romero and Stephen King's classic 1982 anthology film Creepshow to the small screen via the horror streaming service Shudder . Nicotero will direct, executive-produce and supervise creative elements on the Creepshow TV series.
