Universal Orlando announces new King Kong ride for 2016

King Kong first appeared on screens in New York City in 1933, but next summer, he'll be in Florida , headlining a new thrill ride at Universal Orlando. Universal executives announced this week that guests participating in the "intense adventure" will board expedition trucks and forge through jungles, temple ruins and past prehistoric beasts before they come face to face with the oversized ape.

A retrospective of the works of Hollywood Golden Age directors Merian C. Cooper and Ernest B. Schoedsack will be part of this year's San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain, organizers said Wednesday. "Acclaimed for generations as the masterminds of the iconic King Kong , Cooper's and Schoedsack's contribution to fantasy cinema didn't stop at this chef d'oeuvre," festival organizers said, citing the film's contribution to stop-motion animation.
