The legendary comedian, who passed away last year after an operation went wrong, featured in the In Memorium segment that honours the talented individuals of the television industry who died within the last year. It comes after the Oscars was heavily criticised for leaving Joan out of their segment, despite her contribution to film and to the red carpet and awards shows in general, which she was widely credited of putting it on the map.
