" Halloween ," the eleventh film in the horror franchise, nabbed a strong $33.3 million on its opening day Friday and is expected to bring in roughly $80 million domestically this weekend for Universal.

EXCLUSIVE : Universal /Miramax/ Blumhouse 's David Gordon Green-directed reboot-sequel Halloween is scaring up an estimated $14.7M bow at the international box office this weekend. This is in line with Uni estimates heading into the launch where Jamie Lee Curtis ' badass strode into 23 markets.

Bette Midler herself broke the news this afternoon in a very delightful video reveal, in which she puts on that old Winifred voice and asks, "What's a Sanderson sister celebration without Winifred?" cast members Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy, and Thora Birch for Freeform's 25th anniversary special to honor the beloved Halloween classic. In anticipation, has been airing on Freeform pretty frequently all week - and I am not complaining.

George A. Romero's "Night of the Living Dead" has been remastered and restored for the 50th anniversary of the film, which will be screened in dozens of Southern California theaters Wednesday, Oct. 24 and Thursday, Oct. 25. Fathom Events has announced it will present a newly restored and remastered version of George A. Romero's pioneering zombie film "Night of the Living Dead" in 42 movie theaters throughout Southern California on Wednesday, Oct. 24 and Thursday, Oct. 25 only. There are screenings at both 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. and tickets are $12.50.
