The 59-year-old actress has starred as Laurie Strode in the money-spinning 'Halloween' horror franchise since 1978 - but Jamie has admitted she can't actually bring herself to watch films from the horror genre. Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper, Jamie - who has reprised the role of Laurie to star in the latest 'Halloween' film - explained: "I like movies and I think films are beautiful - even this horror film is ... visually gorgeous - but I don't like to be frightened for anything.

For an actor who has starred in five Halloween movies, a Hollywood "scream queen" whose slasher films include Prom Night and Terror Train , Jamie Lee Curtis has a surprising confession. "I don't like them for one second," Curtis said before the Australian premiere of the new Halloween , the latest instalment in the classic horror movie series that was a surprise hit in North America over the weekend.

Deadline reports that Pure Genius ' Dermot Mulroney has signed on to star in the upcoming horror-thriller Trick from Drive Angry 's Patrick Lussier. The film, which will be directed by Lussier and is written by him and his frequent collaborator Todd Farmer , will follow a small town as they fight against an elusive serial killer who gruesomely murders people in different jurisdictions with seemingly no relation between them.
