Blomkamp’s “Aliens” Sequel Won’t Get Made?

"District 9" and "Elysium" director Neill Blomkamp got "Aliens" fans in a tizzy when he talked about his plans for a direct follow-up to James Cameron's 1986 sci-fi starrer. Asked for an update on the project this week on Twitter though, the director now says that the odds of his film actually going into production are "slim".

Spike's Lip Sync Battle this Thursday features a matchup of the international kick-butt queens: Aussie actor, DJ and Orange in the New Black star Ruby Rose versus Milla Jovovich, the Ukraine-born former model, actor and her co-star in Resident Evil: The Final Chapter . In a teaser doing the rounds, Jovovich goes full punk as she tackles Billy Idol's iconic "White Wedding," completing her fierce look with a spiky peroxide blonde barnet and that famous sneer.

Jurassic World 2 has slowly been gathering the new folks who will be accompanying Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, and one of the more integral individuals in the story will be played by The Detour star Daniella Pineda.

Coming off a surprisingly strong $40 million opening of its horror thriller Split , Jason Blum and his Blumhouse Production are moving quickly with its next project, Stem . The production has brought on board Betty Gabriel as the female lead opposite Logan Marshall-Green in the sci-fi thriller from writer-director Leigh Whannell, the co-creator of the Saw and Insidious horror franchises.

Videogame series 'Resident Evil' goes back to its 'survival horror' roots for its new installment with players experiencing the new game from a first person perspective for the first time, according to Japanese videogame maker Capcom. 'Resident Evil 7: Biohazard' - being launched on Tuesday - is set on a Louisiana plantation, and Capcom kicked off a four-day immersive experience event in London on Friday, where gamers solved clues and puzzles as part of a game-inspired plotline.
