Nearly 20 years ago to the day, the live-action, big-screen adaptation of Todd McFarlane 's comic book creation Spawn descended into theaters and ended up not making much of a positive impression. The film's final box office barely did more than double its $40 million budget and made few friends among either critical or fan circles.

Greg Nicotero paid tribute to the late horror legend during the "Fear the Walking Dead" Comic-Con Hall H panel The death of horror legend George A. Romero was very much on the minds of the producers of AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead" during the show's Hall H panel Friday morning - especially effects artist and series executive producer Greg Nicotero, who worked with Romero on 1985's "Dawn of the Dead." "I'd probably be taking out real kidneys instead of fake kidneys," Nicotero said about meeting Romero, who gave him his big break on the zombie film.

Author Peter Benchley wrote the line, "Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water," when setting up the drama for his novel "Jaws." The novel, then blockbuster movie, laid out the horrors of a larger-than-life shark as it terrorized a New England community, and the heroism of a few to hunt down and kill it.

The game is back on in the first official trailer for Lionsgate 's horror film Jigsaw , the eight installment in the Saw franchise series. Like the previous films, Jigsaw will bow in theaters around Halloween on October 27. The film picks up ten years from the death of John Kramer, also known as the methodological Jigsaw.

As time went on, biopics began to tackle more recent subjects, sometimes being based on events that happened only a few years prior to the release of the film.

Hollywood actor Sam Neill says Auckland Council should be "bloody ashamed" of the way it has dealt with a driveway dispute involving his brother. Police were called after Mt Eden resident Michael Neill - Sam Neill's brother - his wife and other residents sat on a roadside on Wrights Spur to stop contractors digging up a strip of land they want left alone.
