Gay Men's Health Crisis will honor multitalented performer Kathy Najimy with the 2017 Howard Ashman Award for her contributions to the LGBT community and the fight against HIV/AIDS. Najimy has been an outspoken advocate for more than three decades and has promoted social justice throughout her career, which includes the films Sister Act and Hocus Pocus and Off-Broadway acts including Kathy & Mo.

The 71-year-old actor starred as the child-killing monster in the 1990 TV mini-series version of Stephen King's 1986 horror novel and despite his many memorable roles Curry is consistently approached by fans of his terrifying alter ego. Speaking to The Guardian newspaper, the English star - who played Dr. Frank-N-Furter in cult classic 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' - said: "I went out to dinner the other night, and I'm currently in a wheelchair because I had a stroke five years ago.

Tobe Hooper, 1943-2017: Tobe Hooper, the horror-movie pioneer whose low-budget sensation "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" took a buzz saw to audiences with its brutally frightful vision, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, in the Sherman Oaks area of Los Angeles. It was reported as a natural death.

A new poster for Stranger Things Season 2 featuring Millie Bobby Brown's Eleven pays homage to 1984 horror film Firestarter. The poster, released Thursday on Twitter, features Brown's hair rising up similar to how a young Drew Barrymore's hair is seen in the poster to Firestarter.
