One of the more surprising films in Dame Judi Dench's varied filmography is the 2004 sci-fi adventure The Chronicles of Riddick . Playing Aereon, a prophet in the cult classic sci-fi sequel, that puts into motion Vin Diesel's fate as a hero and then leader of the Riddick universe, folks may not have expected such a part to be played by a woman who won an Oscar for Shakespeare In Love .

Strange Brigade, the new game by Sniper Elite studio Rebellion, is a charming beast, a breathless romp right out of the pages of a hammy British adventure mag. It's Brendan Fraser's rolled up shirt sleeves in the sandy archaeological action film The Mummy, his beefy fists thumping mummified monsters because they jolly well deserved it! It's all "Treacherous Tombs!" and "Chaps!" and smoking card character portraits.

SANTA CRUZ >> When the $8.5 million " The Lost Boys " production brought Corey Haim, Corey Feldman and company to frolic through Santa Cruz and its Beach Boardwalk for three weeks in 1986, it was just one of the six major theatrical films plus a network television movie filming in the city that year.

Bruce Campbell, who has achieved cult super-star status thanks to his roles in "The Evil Dead" franchise is on a 40-city tour promoting his latest book, "Hail to the Chin". The book chronicles more of Campbell's unorthodox but hugely successful career, a follow-up to his 2002 autobiography, "If Chins Could Kill".
