The 1984 cult classic told the story of the grotesque mutant superhero alter ego of a mild-mannered young man Melvin Ferd, and went on to become Troma Entertainment's mascot. The b-movie company's founders Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz - who also directed the original film - are said to be in line to product the upcoming mainstream remake.

About 10,000 spectators were expected to line Crown Valley Parkway on Saturday, Dec. 8, for the annual Laguna Niguel Holiday Parade, now in its 19th year. The event featured nearly 100 entries including equestrian units, local dignitaries, marching bands, youth groups, classic auto clubs and, of course, Santa himself, waving to the crowd from atop his North Pole float.
