Although he’s been linked to a slew of big-screen adaptations — everything from Frankenstein to The Count of Monte Cristo to At the Mountains of Madness to Pinocchio to even the Disney ride The Haunted Mansion — it looks like Guillermo Del Toro (Hellboy, Mimic, Blade II) has officially settled on what his feature film follow-up to next year’s aliens-versus-robots blockbuster Pacific Rim will be. And even better news for genre fans: it will be a return to his horror roots.
