Gore and Nothing More: Sweatshop DVD Review

Non-horror fans probably think that all horror fans want in a movie is buckets of blood and guts, but as the direct-to-video slasher Sweatshop shows, that’s not the case. It has strong gore scenes — courtesy of the killer’s humongous weapon of choice, a hammer that would put Thor’s to shame — but the splattery mayhem can’t make up for the weak acting, shoddy writing, annoying characters and ineffective direction.
