Is Brian De Palma really going to make a Harvey Weinstein-inspired horror movie and set it at the Toronto International Film Festival? If so, it could help serve as a reminder of the need to fight sexual harassment and to empower women, says TIFF artistic director Cameron Bailey. "It reminds us of just the real importance and the urgency of making a change in the film industry when it comes to gender parity," Bailey told the Star.

Last year, as I flew to Wellington, New Zealand to visit the set of Universal Pictures' Mortal Engines , I read the source novel by writer Philip Reeve . It was a brisk read, one intended for younger audiences, but I immediately understood why filmmaker Peter Jackson had been working for a decade to bring it to the big screen.

This year, an exciting new instalment to the iconic horror franchise 'Halloween' will come, as Michael Myers makes his return to the big screen alongside one of the original Scream Queens, Jamie Lee Curtis. She'll be stepping back into the role of Laurie Strode - a character fans saw killed off in one of the many 'Halloween' sequels - and so it's been confirmed that this film will act as the true sequel to the original movie, scrubbing out any of the history written by flicks that came before it.

He was the young British actor who made such an impression as Lord Bullingdon in Barry Lyndon and then turned around and became Kubrick's assistant for the rest of the director's career - the kind of job that would be considered a demotion on most other film sets.
